Seniors Beat the Heat Thanks to their Caregivers

It's summer in California, which means trips to the beaches, pool hangouts and lots and lots of ice cream (It is National Ice Cream month after all). What is easy to forget, however, in all the excitement of summer, is just how hot it can be here. This week, in fact, the weather has been staying around 90 degrees F! Pools and beaches are good ways to cool off, but we can't all be around such sites 24-7. That's why we've complied a brief list on easy ways to cool off this summer.
  • Visit and relax at a bookstore, library, cafe, or any other commercial area that you enjoy: Most stores and commercial places have air conditioning, which is free to all who visit!. It's a great way to cool off while going window shopping!
  • Sit out under the shade in your local park:  Areas that are abundant with trees, grass and other other forms of vegetation are often cooler than other areas. This is because they reduce air pollution and offset the build-up of heat caused by urban structures. You'll see that by just laying down under the shade, you can begin to cool off and enjoy the view.

  • Ice Cold Water: The benefits of water are vastly underestimated. What many people don't realize is how water can truly help your body in more ways than just hydrating it. By drinking lots of water and especially ice cold water, you reduce your own body heat and feel cooler as a result, wherever you are!
These are fairly simple ways to cool off, but for some people, like children and the elderly, they find it much easier if there was a helping hand guiding them in the right path. That's why seniors in Fullerton are looking to A-1 Home Care to provide them with live in and in home caregivers to help them practice healthy and refreshing habits.
